“The 2019 Buscado Vivo O Muerto La Verdad is a co-fermentation of Malbec and Cabernet Franc from San Pablo, Uco Valley. The wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, 17% of them new. Purplish red in color. The delicate nose features sweet and sour cherry, plum and hints of herbs. Attractive and precise overall, the oak provides support for the other aromas without restricting them. In the mouth, it’s a joy: free-flowing but compact with fine tannins that lend texture and a juicy acidity that brings energy, balancing out the palate. This Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon blend is perfect; each variety has the space to show off its best qualities and character while there’s also ample margin for the finished wine to get even better with time.”

“The 2019 La Verdad San Pablo competed with the Gualtallary bottling in freshness and wild character, but this is perhaps a little more primary, with bright red fruit aromas, a very fine texture with a strong chalky sensation and a combination of lightness and power that is unusual. It’s a co-fermentation of Malbec and Cabernet Franc that shows the austere combination of place and climate, serious and austere and especially lots of energy.”

“La Verdad is the best of the Buscado Chardonnays in 2019, produced with grapes from a vineyard at 1,300 meters in increasingly trendy San Pablo. Subtly wooded, with some texture from partial malolactic fermentation, sappy citrus and tangerine fruit flavors, and the freshness that’s a feature of the bodega’s wines. 2022-26”

“Lots of blueberries, plums and dried violets on the nose with crushed stones, seaweed and black olives, too. It’s medium-to full-bodied with plush, powdery tannins. Creamy and caressing with a distinct, saline undertone. Drink or hold.”

“High-altitude San Pablo is the source of this stylish assemblage of Malbec with 20% Cabernet Franc. Perfumed and intense, it has notes of graphite and wild thyme, toasty oak, plush tannins, and the freshness and structure typical of San Pablo. 2023-29”

About The Winery
Buscado Vivo o Muerto was born of the drive to produce unconventional wines. Wine exploring marginal, often forgotten terroirs. Vineyards with singular soils and unconventional varietals. The search was long, extensive, tireless, and often frustrating. It led them to the far southern Uco Valley in Las Pareditas and high in the Andean foothills to discover the subtleties of Gualtallary. They went in pursuit of something evasive, difficult to define. But Alejandro Sejonovich and Jeff Mausbach persevered - determined to find it, DEAD OR ALIVE.
